Welcome To The Hansen Lab Website
We are focused on developing and utilizing strategies for the detection and characterization of proteins in health and disease. Our goal is to understand underlying mechanisms of disease at the molecular level using mass spectromtry as our primary analytical tool.
Lung Cancer Proteomics
We are analyzing biofluids (plasma, serum and undiluted epithilial lining fluid) to identify molecular differences in patients with early onset cancer versus healthy matched controls.
Protein Identification and Characterization
Mass spectrometry provides a powerful analytical platform for protein characterization.
Protein Quantification
Isotope dilution mass spectrometry is a powerful method for relative or absolute protein quantification.
Protein-Protein Interactions
Affinity chromatography in combination with mass spectrometry is being used to identify protein-protein and protein-ligand interactions.
Data Analysis Tools
We are testing and developing a number of software tools to perform accurate protein identification and quantification.
We are located at the new University of Colorado Fitzsimons campus
We can be found on the ground floor of Research Complex I, room 1303. Lab Phone (303) 724-3325.

The Role of Extracellular Matrix in Metastasis
Using a cell culture model we are performing studies to identify ECM components that influence metastatic potential.
Protein Complexes
Identification of protein complexes with significant biological function and methods to reduce the rate of false positives.
